Popcorn Machine with a Light Bulb
For fund raisers or other large events, it may be more cost and time effective to rent a with a light bulb, or heating element only, and not the popcorn kettle. There are two main types of popcorn machines with a light bulb to cook and/or keep the popcorn warm which you may want to consider, and some advantages and disadvantages to each one of them.
Popcorn Warming Machine
If you are renting a for a fund raiser or fair, then you do have the option of renting a popcorn warming machine. A popcorn warming machine is simply a with a light bulb to keep the popcorn inside the machine warm and fresh. The with a light bulb does not cook the popcorn, but merely keeps pre-popped popcorn warm and fresh as though it were just cooked. One great thing about renting a with a light bulb is that there is little time and preparation required, just empty the popcorn into the machine and turn on the lamp. It still smells and tastes great, and your customer's mouths will still water at the smell. One downside I see to this is that if your customers are paying attention, they will be able to tell that the popcorn isn't freshly popped by looking at the machine. Another idea to consider, in a commercial popcorn maker, it only takes about 3-4 minutes for one whole batch of popcorn to cook, and already popped popcorn may take a little longer to heat up.
Children's with a Light Bulb
This concept came out not too long ago, and people have mixed feelings about it. The children's with a light bulb uses a low wattage light bulb to pop the popcorn. There is virtually no chance of the child burning themselves, and they still get the fun to watch their popcorn pop. However, many have complained that the system doesn't work very well, and it takes a long time to pop even a few kernels. So, if you are looking for a with a light bulb for your child, you may want to weigh all opinions before making your purchase.
Virtually all popcorn machines have some type of heating element to help keep your popcorn fresh and warm for long periods of time until it is served to your family or customers. So, if you see yourself needing to rent a for an upcoming fair, party, or fund raiser, you should definitely consider pricing out options from a regular versus a with a light bulb.
